Thailand to end curfew June 15

The Thai government will lift the nationwide curfew imposed since March 22 on June 15 as the country implements the 4th relaxation of its national lockdown.

 

According to Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesperson of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), the meeting headed by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, as the Covid-19 pandemic taskforce’s head, resolved to end curfew order nationwide with effective from June 15.   However, a state of emergency decree remains while the immigration into Thailand is still prohibited on the back of the infected patients from overseas.

 

The following high-risk groups exposed to the virus spread are considered to be relaxed with some preventive measures to be imposed

1 Schools, educational centers and institutions, government units, agencies and units under supervision of the government.

2 Conventional centers, exhibition centers, theaters, cinemas with space distancing of 4 square meter per person.  For events and music concerts, they resume business as normal with space distancing of 5 square meter per person and no sales promotional activities.

3 Restaurants and food places that are allowed to re-open earlier, alcoholic drinks can be served at shops and no sales promotional activities.   Services in pubs, bars, beer and kara-o-kae shops are prohibited.

4 Nursery and elderly centers for one-day stay can be resumed with space distancing of 2 square meter per person.

5 Scientific centers and planetariums in small groups.

6 Soap opera and live show studios can be arranged with up to 150 total attendants and the audiences not more than 50 persons with space distancing of 2 square meter per person.

7 Health massage, steam rooms, can be resumed in private room or need to keep reasonable headcounts and space distancing of 5 square meter per person in public room.  Massage parlours are prohibited.

8 Amusement parks, playground, swimming pools, public parks can be re-opened, except for ball playing fields.

9 Sport fields and exercise fitness and be resumed but the audience fans are not allowed.  Aerobic class of not more than 50 persons and space distancing of 5 square meter per person is allowed.

10 Game shops in department stores, shopping mall, or similar places can be resumed with services times of not more than 2 hours per person.

11 Public transportation can be resumed.  Airline passengers can be 100% loaded but with face masks all the times.  For bus transportation, it allows 70% passenger loads and arranges seats with one seat free in between.

 

Other mandatory measures also apply as usual such as wearing face masks, check-in and check-out via ‘Thai Chana’ app, regular cleaning and providing hygiene measures.
