PwC Thailand announces new CEO Chanchai Chaiprasit
Chanchai is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PwC Thailand, which has more than 2,000 employees.
Prior to taking the top post in 2020, Chanchai held various leadership roles within PwC, including leading the Thailand firm’s Assurance practice and serving as a management board member. His areas of expertise include preparing companies for an initial public offering (IPO) through improvements in their financial reporting, corporate governance and internal control system. He has also been responsible for audit work, accounting system design and implementation, and litigation for both large multinational and Thai listed entities.
Since June 2017, Chanchai has been chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Sub-Committee of the Federation of Accounting Professions (FAP). The Sub-Committee’s primary role is to keep up with global developments in the industry, including preparation for entry into the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and compliance with international agreements for accounting professionals.
Chanchai’s client portfolios span industries including transportation and logistics, energy and mining, hospitality and leisure, property development, and construction.
He joined Price Waterhouse’s Assurance practice in 1997 and became a partner in 2006.
He also regularly shares his time and expertise with external professional bodies. In addition to his role as a chairperson of the FAP’s Foreign Affairs Sub-Committee, he is a regular guest speaker at seminars and events held by organisations including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Market for Alternative Investment (mai).
