THG to double number of beds at Thonburi Hospital
Thonburi Healthcare Group Pcl (THG), foreseeing better-than-expected profitability ahead, will expand its investment in Thonburi Hospital’s Bamrungmuang branch, increasing the number of patient beds from 47 to 130 in the current quarter.
THG, which has as its mission “Lifetime health guardian for all”, is adding more beds in response to increased demand for premium healthcare services. THG vice chairman Dr Tanatip Suppradit said the Bamrungmuang branch is seen as becoming a “six-star premium healthcare centre” using high technology and a full team of doctors and other experts to serve high-end patients and medical tourists.
Opening a year ago, the branch reached the breakeven point in August and has since earned better-than-expected profits on the back of well-planned marketing both domestically and overseas. Tanatip sites a rising number of foreign patients visiting the hospital, especially Chinese seeking consultation on fertility treatment and Middle Easterners needing help for diabetes.
Thonburi Hospital’s Bamrungmuang branch provides the following services:
- Diabetic Wound Care Centre – the most popular and highest revenue generator
- Personalised Check-up Centre – using high technology
- Digital Dental Centre – where root canals, one-day implants and crown treatment are available
- In-vitro Fertilisation Centre
- Gastrointestinal and Liver Centre
- Cardiac Centre
- Innovative and Plastic Surgery Centre
- Gynaecology and Wellness Centre
- Ear Nose Throat Centre
- Orthopaedics Centre
To tap the significant growth in interest in premium healthcare services, THG will seek regulatory approval to register the additional patient beds at the branch, more than doubling capacity and generating additional monthly revenues between Bt150 million and Bt200 million.
