DEXON Technology (formerly Dacon Inspection Technologies Co.,Ltd), an innovative technology company providing oil and gas pipeline inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) service, led by Nawarat Khamsri, International Sales and Marketing Manager for DEXON Technology introduced the UT-CS Hawk In-line Inspection System to Supranee Kongkiatkamon, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Singapore at the 2022 Offshore Southeast Asia (OSEA) Conference and Exhibition in Singapore.

The UT-CS Hawk ILI system (UT-CS), allows for the detection and measurement of cracks and crack-like defects in both onshore and offshore oil and gas pipelines. By combining exceptional sampling resolution with direct data analysis, the tool delivers highly accurate and detailed inspection results. Allowing for the accurate detection of physical anomalies that may compromise the integrity of the asset determining pipeline service life and maintenance requirements.

UT-CS achieves the collection of ultra-high-resolution inspection data via the use of 768 ultrasonic sensors, measuring and recording up to 1,000,000 direct measurements of the physical internal characteristics of the pipe wall. This resolution allows for the detection and measurement of axial and circumferential cracks smaller than 1mm in through wall height and as little as 15 mm in length, in addition to obtaining corrosion measurements able to detect pinhole corrosion.

Software development has been a key area of focus in the UT-CS Hawk’s development. Machine learning and artificial intelligence have been utilized to achieve automated defect sizing and classification, speeding up reporting times, efficiency, and accuracy.

In July of 2022 DEXON completed the tool’s inaugural inspection run in Canada, North America. A team of specialist inspection engineers was mobilized from Thailand to North America to carry out the inspection.

“It’s my pleasure to introduce the latest addition to DEXON Technology’s pipeline inspection fleet, the UT-CS Hawk ILI System. The technology is a huge step forward for the industry and will allow our clients to make better decisions regarding maintenance requirements and the integrity of their assets. DEXON is committed to the development of inspection technology to continually meet the ever-evolving inspection needs of our clients.” said Mallika Kaekla, CEO of DEXON Technology PLC.
